Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday remanded to prison a Houston Housing Scheme man after he was read five separate indictable charges of armed robbery.
The Georgetown Magistrates’ Court heard that Dylon Henry, 24, of 53 Houston Housing Scheme on September 7 at Agricola robbed Lyndon Parks of a quantity of cash and a cellular phone amounting to $122,000.
It is also alleged that on the same date and location, being together with others and armed with a gun, Henry robbed Ken Khan of a quantity of gold jewellery and cash, to the total value of $155,000. The court also heard that on December 7 at Agricola, being together with others and armed with a gun, Henry robbed Webster De Younge of one cellular phone and a quantity of cash amounting to $53,000.
On the same day and location, it is also alleged that Henry being together with others and armed with a gun robbed James Gonsalves of one cellular phone and a quantity of cash amounting to $52,000 at Agricola.
Also, on the say day, at Agricola, being together with others and armed with a gun Henry allegedly robbed Terrence De Freitas of a cellular phone and a quantity of cash, all to a value of $40,000.
The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charges.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones said bail should be denied based on the gravity of the charges and the penalties they attract.
He also said that violence was used in all of the robberies.
Henry was ordered to appear in court on January 7 before Magistrate Judy Latchman.
