An Essequibo boat captain is missing after his boat was struck by a wave caused by another boat early yesterday morning in the Essequibo River.
Patrick Reynolds, 65, of Big Hope, Essequibo is missing and feared to have drowned after his boat capsized in the Essequibo River. Six other persons who were in his vessel were rescued and taken to shore by another passing boat.
According to the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD), Reynolds’ boat was travelling from Itaballi to Teperu in the Essequibo River when the incident occurred.
MARAD said it was investigating the accident along with the Bartica Police, while trying to locate the other vessel which allegedly caused the boat to capsize.
