A man was arrested yesterday for possession of an unlicenced firearm after police received information of an alleged attempted robbery.
According to a police press statement, a rural constable searched a man who was on a boat at Isseneru, Mazaruni River and discovered a .38 Taurus revolver, while investigations were being conducted into the attempted robbery.
The man is currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
