High Stars FC continued their fairytale run in the GT Beer sponsored Upper Demerara Football Association Knockout Tourney, overcoming Milerock FC 3-2 compliments of a Tony Adams hat trick on Thursday at the Mackenzie Sports Club. Milerock raced off into the early lead in the 12th minute as Denzil Fordyce etched his name on the scorer’s sheet. Clarence Huggins would then make it 2-0 as he found the back of the net 11 minutes onward. However Adams would take over the matchup, igniting the comeback through a 34th minute conversion to cut the deficit to one going into the half time interval. He would then make his presence felt six minutes into the second period, levelling the score line as he sealed his double.
The come from behind win would then be sealed as Adams completed a deserved hat-trick through a 95th minute attempt.
In the other matchup of the doubleheader, traditional heavyweights Topp XX squeaked past Net-Rockers by a 1-0 score line compliments of a Shawn Daniels first half conversion in the 24th minute.
