Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Normalization Committee Chairman Clinton Urling said the entity’s General Secretary (Ag) Mabiola Howard will not be returning in that capacity upon the commencement of January 2015.
Howard replaced long serving General Secretary Noel Adonis who resigned from the post earlier in the year following the expiration of his contract with the local governing body.
Speaking in an invited comment with Stabroek Sports, the FIFA appointed chairman said…”It is true that the acting General Secretary Ms. Howard will no longer be employed by the GFF after December 31, 2014.”
Questioned if the decision was taken singularly by the committee or in conjunction with GFF General Council, Urling said “The decision was made by the Normalization Committee which has the responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat.”
Asked what is the expected time-frame for filling the position and what will be the criteria utilized for selection, he said “We hope to occupy the vacancy soon. No decision has yet been made as to the hiring methodology. The NC will decide on the most appropriate approach”.
