Dear Editor,
It does not project well on a company of standing such as Banks DIH Limited when the New Amsterdam ‘Qik Serv’ is being ‘run down’ so to speak. The service is terrible, to say the least. And it’s not the first time I am writing about this restaurant. Nobody in management seems to care or want to improve that restaurant’s service delivery.
It is totally unacceptable what I witnessed on Sunday evening last. You had to wait for a very long time again owing to the fact that the cones were very soft. Additionally, while standing, awaiting my order of fried chicken (for which, by the way, I waited over 20 minutes), I saw flies in their kitchen at the back (to my shock and amazement).
When my chicken arrived, the attendant poured ketchup in a plastic bag – a plastic bag! I was told there was no ketchup in the sachets. Now I don’t know about anyone, but I certainly am very picky about the ketchup I use from eateries, and certainly I would not consume ketchup poured into a bag. What a shame! You cannot want to open for business at 3 pm and then refuse customers cones, because the cone is soft since you turned on the machine at the time of opening.
On many occasions, they re-sell stale cakes and pastries from the previous day. Now this is a very big management issue; I would not blame the employees. I know the girls that work there; very hard working individuals. But if management lacks the ability to change, then I am afraid some people have to go. Banks DIH cannot continue to exploit the citizens of New Amsterdam and Berbice as a whole with the atrocious service given by Demico Qik Serv. It’s either they make some serious investment in this facility, or close it down.
Yours faithfully,
Leon Suseran
