Masked gunmen invaded a Bel Air Promenade, Prashad Nagar residence on Sunday night, robbed a group of friends and then fled in a car belonging to one of their victims.
According to Louisa Mancey, who was the caretaker of the residence, she and five other friends were “hanging out” watching a movie at around 10pm when three masked gunmen entered the living room.
After entering, she recalled, the men instructed that they lie on the floor while issuing death threats and making inquiries about money. Mancey said that she and her friends cooperated since the men had guns. Nonetheless, she said two of her friends were gun-butted while another was kicked.
The men carted off about $150,000 in cash along with three laptop computers, five smartphones, an undisclosed amount of jewellery, a safe and cameras.
Mancey said that the men subsequently made good their escape in her white Toyota Corolla motorcar, which bears licence number PJJ 1321. Up to yesterday, the car had yet to be found.
Superintendent Hugh Jessemy, the Divisional Detective Officer, said yesterday that the police are currently investigating the attack.
