A Bartica miner was stabbed to death in a mining camp at Arimu Backdam, Cuyuni River on Tuesday night.
Noel Clementson, 35, of Bartica was involved in an argument with another in the camp around 9pm and was stabbed several times about his body.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bartica Hospital.
According to information received, the father of one had recently started working in the interior after he lost his speedboat operator job.
Clementson was one of the persons who had entered last year’s National Calypso competition however he did not make it to the finals.
According to a police release, his perpetrator has not yet been arrested but investigations are ongoing.
