Alpha United tactician Wayne Dover will be departing these shores on Tuesday January 13 to attend the 68th Annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Philadelphia, USA.
The event which will be hosted from January 15- 18 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, is often billed as the globe’s largest gathering of soccer coaches each year, drawing an estimated 10,000 attendees inclusive of over 4,000 coaches. The agenda includes live field demonstrations, networking socials and lecture sessions.
In an invited comment Dover who is the first coach to ever attend the event said, “As a coach I always want to be exposed to modern trends in football. Attending this convention will be an opportunity to learn over the four days as well as network with other coaches from all walks of life in the football fraternity.”
According to Dover, NCSAA member Stanley Harmon invited him to the forum and he intends to capitalise on the opportunity. “This exposure I will try to maximize on and learn as much as I can for my self-development and by extension the development of the nation’s football,” he said. “The fact that I am the President of the coaches association, the things I will learn over the four days I will try my very best to give back through sharing of information and when necessary when the coaches association hosts seminars and workshops.”
“The information acquired will be disseminated amongst the coaches,” he added. Dover is expected to return to local shores on Monday January 19.
