Dear Editor,
Some will say it is only cricket, but the decision of the WICB to exclude first Dwayne Bravo, Pollard and Sammy, and then Dwayne Bravo and Pollard only from some formats of WI cricket without even an attempt to explain the decision, involves more than cricket. Remember Pollard was not the captain of the striking team, and Sammy has been reinstated. A WI Prime Minister (Gonsalves), a Chairman of a cricket governance commission (Wilkins), and one of the most respected WI cricket legends (Holding) all spoke out publicly against the decision, giving reasons for their respective, respectful positions.
It is not OK. This behaviour goes to the core of what is acceptable (not in a legal or political sense) in a civilized society. It must be stopped.
Yours faithfully,
Romain Pitt
