Hornets winning streak now four with defeat of Raptors

(The Sports Xchange) — Gerald Henderson scored 31 points as the Charlotte Hornets extended their winning streak to four games with a 103-95 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Kemba Walker added 29 points, seven rebounds and eight assists — and hit a three-pointer in the final two minutes to extend the lead to 10 points — as the Hornets (14-24) handed the Raptors their fourth loss in a row.

Kyle Lowry tallied 24 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for Toronto (24-11).

Rockets 120, Knicks 96

James Harden recorded 25 points to lead seven Houston players in double-figures as the Rockets routed the struggling New York Knicks 120-96.

Trevor Ariza added 18 points and Dwight Howard put up 13 and 10 rebounds for the Rockets (25-11), who remain firmly in the mix in the Western Conference.

Travis Wear finished with 21 for New York (5-34), who were playing without the injured Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire and have now dropped 14 straight.

Trail Blazers 99, Heat 83

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points and hauled in 12 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to overwhelm the Miami Heat.

Wesley Matthews added 18 points for the Trail Blazers, who outscored the Heat 56-35 in the second half. Portland (28-8) won for the sixth time in seven outings.

Dwyane Wade led Miami (15-21) with 23 points and seven rebounds. Chris Bosh added 18 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Heat, who shot less than 40 percent from the field, including 3-for-14 from the three-point arc.
