Imran Khan, the West Indies Cricket Board’s Manager of Marketing and Communications yesterday was tightlipped on whether Trinidadians Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard had been omitted from the West Indies team for the upcoming World Cup competition.
Asked to comment on former West Indies Players Association Dinnanath Ramnarine’s Twitter post that neither Pollard nor Bravo have been selected on the West Indies team for the Khan would neither confirm or deny the assertions but told this newspaper to wait until today when the team would be released.
“We will announce the CWC squad tomorrow in the PM,” was all that the WICB top media officer would offer.
Ramnarine, a former West Indies leg spinner posted on Twitter “Confirmed Bravo and Pollard are both out of the 2015 WC.”
Both Bravo and Pollard participated in yesterday’s opening T20 match against South Africa which the West Indies won by six wickets but Bravo and Pollard have not been included in the West Indies One-Day team to be led by new skipper Jason Holder which will engage the South Africans in a five match One Day Series starting next Friday.
