The American President John Quincy Adams said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more to do more, to learn more, to become more, you are a leader.”
For most people obedience to leadership is the rule and not the exception, therefore when that leadership figure expresses a firm request to have something an unexpected number of people are willing to fulfil that request.
But there are two sides to an issue and the political leaders have found their political parties in an unfamiliar situation that has led to the postponement of parliament.
As a citizen and an advocate of human rights, I think the political leaders should hopefully and confidently represent their constitutional duties through the communication of arguments and information to change each other’s attitude at the table.
Finally leaders should be the voice of reason, and the time has come for constitutional and personality changes by all political parties for Guyana’s development.
