Opposition leader David Granger is leading a team of A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Members of Parliament on a four-day visit to Rupununi, Region Nine as part of the main opposition coalition’s campaign for the upcoming national elections.
According to a statement from APNU’s Director of Communications Mark Archer, Granger and his team began the visit to 28 villages in the North, Central and South Rupununi yesterday. Among the villages that the team is expected to visit are Aishalton, Maruranaw, Achiwib, Parishara, Nappi, Yupukari, St. Ignatius, Moco Moco and Tabatinga.
The release stated that the APNU team includes Shadow Education Minister Amna Ally, Shadow Public Security Minister and Campaign Director Winston Felix, Shadow Hinterland Development Minister Ronald Bulkan, Dr. George Norton, Annette Ferguson and Sydney Allicock.
Several other high ranking APNU regional officials will accompany the team.
