(Trinidad Express) A Tobago police officer will appear before a Scarborough magistrate tomorrow, charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor.
Police reports said the incidents occurred in 2006, when the victim was under the age of 16 years.
The officer, who has approximately ten years service, was arrested on Tuesday and has since retained attorney Martin George to represent him in the matter.
He is facing 12 charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Newly appointed ACP Earl Gonzales, when contacted on the matter, confirmed yesterday a Tobago officer was held and charged with sex offences and is to appear in court.
