Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited today announced the retirement of its Managing Director, John Alves with effect from June 30, 2015.
In an advertisement in today’s Stabroek News, Republic Bank said that Richard Sammy has been appointed Managing Director (Designate) of Republic Bank (Guyana). He is currently the Regional Corporate Manager, Corporate Business Centre, South, Republic Bank (Trinidad) Limited.
The advertisement said that Alves was appointed Managing Director on April 9, 2010 and has a distinguished career which spans 40 years.
Sammy, it said, joined Republic Bank on March 1st, 2009 as Regional Manager, Investment Banking. It said that over the last six years he worked on the financing of a number of major projects in several Caribbean territories and Guyana.
