A technician yesterday found himself before a city court facing a fraud charge after he was accused of scamming another man of $200,000 in a deal to sell him a car.
The charge against Leon Davidson, 38, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, is that on July 15, 2014, at Hadfield Street, George-town, he obtained $200,000 from Mohamed Khan by pretending to him that he was in the position to sell motor car PHH 4941.
The unrepresented Davidson pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The prosecution objected to bail, citing the nature, gravity and prevalence of the charge.
Davidson, however, was subsequently granted $100,000 bail but it was later reduced to $75,000. The ca
