Woman asks court to ‘tame’ sister accused of threatening her with knife

“I will just like her to be tamed. She is very hot. I just want her to calm down,” a woman told a city court yesterday after refusing to testify against her sister who allegedly threatened her with a knife.

Magistrate Annette Singh eventually dismissed the case against Jamacey Johnson who denied that on January 19, at South Ruimveldt she made use of threatening behaviour to Sadie Clarke.

Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick told the court that Johnson and Clarke are sisters and on the day in question Clarke interfered with Johnson’s personal property without her permission which annoyed her and she armed herself with a knife and threatened her sister.

Johnson, in her defence said that Clarke is in the habit of interfering with other people’s property without their permission. “Nobody in the house touch her things and why she must touch other people things?” the defendant questioned.

When the magistrate asked Clarke if she was serious about ending the matter, she said she was not sure if her sister knew the seriousness of the matter but wanted to give her a chance. “Is not the first time she threatening me, but I don’t think she knows what she is doing so I am giving her a fair chance,” Clark stated.

The virtual complainant was then cautioned by the magistrate to desist from interfering with her sister’s property and they were both placed on a bond to keep the peace for one year; defaulting will result in imprisonment for one month. They were also ordered to seek counselling at Help and Shelter.
