The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) has pushed back its Novices Championship.

The venue remains the National Gymnasium and the registration deadline has been extended to January 25. Participants may contact any member of the GAPF executive committee, registration forms will be available at Basic Beauty at Lot 9 North Road.
According to PRO of the GAPF, Paul Adams, the reason for the postponement hinges on selecting the best team for the Caribbean Championships slated for some time in April (TBA).
“The Caribbean Championships was set for March but was moved down to April, so it gives the athletes more time to prepare. We needed more time to submit nominations so we had to create some space” said Adams.
The competition will start at 10:00hrs.Weigh in commences at 7.30hrs Venue is the National Gymnasium. The Inconvenience is regretted.
Honorable Minister of Sport Dr. Frank Anthony along with NSC Officials will be attending the opening of the championships and taking the opportunity to make a presentation of much needed powerlifting equipment on behalf of the Ministry of Sport.
