A man was on Friday sentenced in his absence to three years imprisonment after being found guilty by a court on a narcotics-trafficking charge.
Brian Mohan was found guilty of the October 22, 2014 charge which stated that he had 22 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The ruling was handed down in Mohan’s absence by Magistrate Ann McLennan at the George-town Magistrates’ Court Two.
The defendant was tried and found guilty in his absence as he failed to return to court after being granted his pretrial liberty.
In addition to being sentenced to three years behind bars, Mohan was also fined $26,400.
