The Guyana and Trinidad Mutual (GTM) fire and life insurance company on Friday launched Guyana’s first ever medical professionals’ insurance package along with two other packages at the Pegasus hotel in Kingston.
The insurance company rolled out its Medical Professional Club, Special Motor Package and its Homeowners Comprehensive Policy with a full house of doctors, nurses and members of the private sector in attendance.
Doctors, registered nurses, and pharmacists can now benefit, for the first time, from the highest No Claim discount on their vehicles along with an introductory premium discount of 20% and accident forgiveness on vehicles involved in an accident after the first year. They will also benefit from free alternative transportation for up to 14 days while their vehicle is undergoing repairs.
Meanwhile, the Homeowner Compre-hensive Package provides a wide range of benefits at an affordable premium, regardless of whether you own a house, self-contained apartment or renting.
The company is also partnering with Beharry Automotive and Automotive Art to deliver these services to customers.
Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh congratulated the company for the innovative service and further urged them to take the necessary action to restore the recognition of the insurance industry. He said the industry, especially in Guyana and the Caribbean, had suffered a great blow but has managed to recover despite less people buying insurance. He advised the industry to address this issue and get people to better understand the importance of buying life, home and motor insurance.
Singh added that even though GTM has been the insurance company that has been the longest in Guyana, it has managed to defy perils of longevity and provide innovative services.
