A 38-year-old teacher accused of having sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl was yesterday granted bail in the sum of $300,000 when he appeared before Magis-trate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation against Andre Hetsberger of Lot 263 17th Street, Dazzel Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, is that on October 15, 2014 at Georgetown, he sexually penetrated a child.
The teacher was also accused of sexually penetrating the child on October 17, three days after the first alleged incident.
The man was not required to plead to the two charges when they were read to him. He was placed on $150,000 bail for each charge and was ordered to return to court on February 2.
Hetsberger is being represented by Attorney-at-law Basil Williams.
The proceedings were held in-camera.
