A trickster was yesterday again arrested by the police after he pretended to be Minister of Housing and Water, Irfaan Ali.
According to a press release issued from the Guyana Police Force, at about 02:00 hours yesterday, Damion Bailey, 39, of Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD), pretended that he was the Minister of Housing and Water.
He called a store and claimed that he had lost his phone and was sending his driver to uplift a Samsung smart phone.
When the man turned up at the store yesterday morning, police were informed and he was subsequently arrested. He is in custody assisting with investigations.
Two months ago, Bailey pretended to be Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee in order to obtain a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone from Digicel.
He was charged and appeared in court where he was released on $200,000 bail. However, this matter was eventually dismissed earlier this year.
