The New York based light heavyweight prospect kicked off his 2015 campaign in familiar fashion on Thursday night, stopping Kojo Issah via a second round TKO at the BB King Blues Club and Grill, NY, NY.
‘2 Sharpe’ slice through Issah’s defense and dropped him with a right to the body. Issah then went down for the 10-count at 51 seconds of round two in the scheduled six-rounder.
The undefeated Allen, 173 pounds of Brooklyn, NY is now 18-0-1 with 11 knockouts. Issah, 173 pounds of Frederick, MD dropped to 14-2-1.
In an invited comment with Stabroek Sport yesterday, Allen who was coming off a 15-month layoff disclosed that he felt no ring rust and that he is looking forward for a world title crack at the end of the year.
Said the 29-year old southpaw, “Right now we are looking for one of the top 15, top 10 guys because I hope to fight for a world title before the end of the year or early 2016.”
If ‘2 Sharpe’ continues to slice through the division, he could perhaps become Guyana’s next world champion. (Emmerson Campbell)
