The third annual Milo/Petra Organization Secondary Schools U20 football tourney will officially kick off today at the Ministry of Education ground with four fixtures.
In the opening matchup of the tournament, Freeburg Secondary will faceoff with traditional giants Charlestown Secondary from 11:00hrs. The second match in the section will then witness Woolford Avenue unit North Georgetown opposing relative newcomers Mae’s Secondary from 12:30hrs.
In the third affair, Camp Road outfit Queen’s College will lock horns with School of the Nations from 14:00hrs while the final match of the opening day will see Kingston Secondary tackling Tucville Secondary from 15:30hrs.
Winners of the event will pocket the championship trophy and the sum of $500,000 which is intended to go towards the building of any school project while the second, third and fourth placed sides will pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively for the funding of a school venture.
On the individual side, awards will be given for the event’s most valuable player, highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper while four full scholarships to attend Chase Academy free of cost will also be up for grabs.
