An Albouystown youth was yesterday ordered to perform six months of community service after admitting his cannabis use to a city court.
Keron Persaud, 18, told Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry that he uses the illegal drug after being questioned about having possession of 2 grammes of cannabis, for which he was charged. “I does use it to burn,” he stated.
The magistrate then ordered him to report to the Officer-in-Charge at the Ruimveldt Police Station for the next six months, during which time he is to work between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm.
