A Paradise, West Coast Berbice man succumbed yesterday at the New Amsterdam Hospital, where he was being treated for injuries he sustained during a recent assault.
Police, in a statement, said Dexter Sandford, 29, was involved in an argument with another man at Paradise on Monday, during which he was assaulted with a metal bar.
Sandford was admitted to the hospital until his death yesterday.
The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations, police added.
