A man was released on $30,000 bail on Thursday after he made his second appearance at a city court, only this time charged with wounding two women.
It is alleged that Michael James, 41, of Lot 3 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Monique Benjamin and Margie Seales.
James denied both wounding charges when they were read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
No details about the charges were presented. However, the court heard that James has a domestic violence matter before another magistrate where Benjamin’s sister is the complainant.
Prosecutor Michael Grant had no objections to bail but asked for it to be in a substantial amount.
The matter was transferred to Court Six, when it will be called again before Magistrate Dylon Bess on February 16.
