The Police Office of Professional Responsibility has concluded investigations into the alleged corrupt transaction involving two police ranks attached to the Kurupung Police Station.
A statement from the police today said that so far, the ranks have been charged departmentally and the disciplinary inquiry is in progress.
Meanwhile the file in the matter has been submitted to the Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority for his comments in relation to the criminal aspect.
The investigations had resulted from reports that the two ranks had arrested some men on January 12, 2015, in relation to the possession of an unlicensed shotgun and nine cartridges and were allegedly involved in a subsequent corrupt transaction.
