Two men who admitted to dumping waste on city streets were on Tuesday separately sentenced to perform community service.
Ernest Jarad admitted that on February 14, he deposited waste on Hadfield Street, while Junior McLean admitted that he deposited waste on Croal Street on the same date.
Jarad told the court that he was very sorry about what he did and he promised to never repeat the action. “I really very sorry. I asking for you to have sympathy on me, your worship… I promise myself that I will never do it again,” he pleaded.
McLean also apologised to the court and the City Council for his actions.
The men were sentenced by Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond to perform 15 hours of community service each at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, beginning from today and excluding weekends and holidays.
