The new call centre, Teleperformance is seeking employees and has identified a manager for its Guyana operations.
Teleperformance is housed in the six-storey building at the corner of Camp and Robb Streets. It is currently receiving applications and is expected to employ close to 1,500 persons. A press release from the company said that the building is in its final phase and is expected to open its doors by April.
The statement revealed that Dr Dale Dan is its Vice-President of Operat-ions for the state-of-the-art contact centre in Guyana. Dan over the last four years helped launch a USA-accredited institution Bakke Graduate University (BGU) in Guyana. A Guyanese who acquired her primary education here and later pursued higher studies in the United States and Spain, Dan expressed optimism about her future with Teleperformance.
“I am fortunate to have worked alongside so many educators and students in Guyana,” she was quoted as saying in the statement. “I look forward to bringing the same level of hard-working and skilled individuals to Teleperformance for career opportunities servicing major international clients. Our company will create hundreds of new jobs in the community and I am proud to be a part of the development.” She added that she is honoured and excited to pursue this opportunity with Teleper-formance in Guyana.
