(Trinidad Express) The West Indies Players Association (WIPA) said Saturday it was “extremely disturbed” by what it termed, “unacceptable re-tweeting” by West Indies Cricket Board president Dave Cameron, of a negative “fan” tweet which was directed at West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle.
In a press release Saturday the players body said, “that Mr Cameron’s re-tweet came in the middle of the West Indies team’s critical ICC CWC game against Pakistan renders it even more unacceptable.”
WIPA president Wavell Hinds was quoted in the release as saying, “we denounce any such behaviour by any official of the WICB in any given circumstance.”
WIPA have written to the WICB requesting a full explanation.
