A Venezuelan national was on Tuesday fined $30,000 for overstaying his time in Guyana, where he was on vacation.
The charge against Rogelio Perez stated that he overstayed after being granted permission to stay in Guyana between February 6 and 15.
Perez pleaded guilty to the charge through an interpreter and Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 1, fined him $30,000 with an alternative of one month in jail.
