Cricket lovers are in for a treat this weekend with 11 Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) matches planned for various venues in the city, including Banks Malta Supreme Under-13 semi-finals.
The U-13 semi-finals will be played at the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) ground tomorrow featuring defending champions Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) against Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) in the first match set for 9.30am. Everest Cricket Club will tackle Transport Sports Club (TSC) from 1.30pm.
The other nine matches will be played across two levels, first division and second division, tomorrow and Sunday. The lone Hadi’s World Incorporated first division two-day encounter will feature Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) and Police Sports Club. Play will get underway at 9.30am on both days at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda.
Meanwhile, eight matches in the New Building Society second division 40-over tournament will also be contested. On Saturday, Third Class will face host GNIC, DCC will play home to St. Stanislaus and Ace Warriors will tackle Police at GYO. The other matches scheduled for Sunday includes the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) against host Everest; TSC will visit Police at Eve Leary, Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) against host DCC, Diplomats against GYO at GYO and Third Class and GCC will play at MYO.
All New Building Society second division matches are set to commence at 11am.
