The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)/A. Ally and Sons Inter Secondary School Under-17 competition continued last weekend with top all-round performances from some of the county’s young talent.
At Cumberland, New Amsterdam Secondary School (NASS) took first innings points from Canje Secondary in their drawn match. NASS made 111 all out with Garfield Benjamin 30 and Brandon Corlette 22, the principal scorers. Former Guyana U15 off spinner Kevin Sinclair took 4 for 28 and Joshua Bacchus 2 for 18.
In reply, Canje Secondary made 59 all out with Floyd Kissoon bagging 6 for 19 and Guyana U15 pacer Steven Kamaludin 2 for 15.
In their second innings NASS made 48 for 8 declared with Sinclair (3-20) and Bacchus (2-4) being the wicket takers.
Batting a second time, Canje reached 62 for 7 with Kissoon capturing 3 for 22, Joshua Deonarin 2 for 9 and Arjuna Pooran 2 for 9.
At Rose Hall, Vryman’s Erven Secondary School took first innings points from Berbice Educational Institute (BEI) in their drawn match. Vryman’s Erven batted first and were bowled out 117 despite knocks from former Berbice U15 all-rounder Junior Williams of 36 and Mark Wilson 22.
National U15 cricketer Steve Deonarin snared 3 for 25 and Floyd Schultz 2 for 30. BEI in their first innings were bowled out for 94 with Sasenarine Sookoo 30 and Mahendra Parasram 20 the main scorers. Kyle Michael (5-8) and Isiah Lewis (3-18), were the wicket-takers.
