Beacons FC registered their first win of the inaugural Massy United Insurance Company sponsored Fruta Conquerors U-15 League edging Sunburst Camptown by a 2-1 score line yesterday at the Tucville Community ground.
Wesley Thompson opened the scoring for Beacons in the 20th minute, lobbing his right footed strike into the empty net from the centre of the field, after the Campbellville custodian upon racing off his goal-line, cleared an attempted through pass into his path.
Camptown would then level the scores in the 47th minute as Shane Jones netted, lashing his effort into the lower left hand corner from within the centre of the penalty box.
However, Beacons would find the go-ahead winner three minutes later through an Osiel Critchlow right footed effort into the lower left hand corner, after an initial strike was parried into his path by the opposing shot-stopper.
Also clinching a win by an identical score was Renaissance FC who defeated Western Tigers in the third fixture. Shemar Austin and Calvin Peters scored for the East Ruimveldt based unit while Shomar Brandon netted for the losers.
Similarly on the victorious side was Santos FC who dismantled Riddim Squad by a 4-0 margin. Jamal Mingo broke the deadlock for Santos compliments of a 15th minute conversion. It would then become 2-0 in the 21st minute as Ryan Dowding found the back of the net.
Dowding would further increase their advantage as he sealed his second of the fixture four minutes onward. The result would then be completed in the 49th minute as DeAngelo Vaux scored.
The second fixture of the day saw Georgetown Football Club earning an easy win via the walkover route against Houston Stars. In the fifth showdown, Order and Discipline FC edged Pele FC by a 1-0 score line. Quincy Hamilton netted for the winners.
The final fixture of the day witnessed hosts Fruta Conquerors dismissing Black Pearl 5-0 compliments of a hat-trick from Raushan Ritch and a double from Orrwyn Garraway. The action is set to continue at the same venue on Saturday with six programmed matchups.
