A man was placed on bail yesterday after denying that he abused and assaulted a police officer.
Ryan Foster, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charges yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 6.
It is alleged that on March 5, 2015, Foster made use of abusive language and assaulted Lee Peterson so as to cause actual bodily harm.
Police say that Peterson, the police officer on duty, was in the vicinity of Muneshwers’ Travel Service when he noticed that Foster and another individual were having a verbal altercation. Lee approached the men and Foster allegedly became angry and verbally abused and assaulted him.
After listening to the facts of the case, Magistrate Dylon Bess placed Foster on $30,000 bail. Foster is expected to return to court on March 31st for trial.
