A 50-year-old man was crushed to death last Friday when he was run over by a motor lorry at Three Miles, Hururu.
Police identified the dead man as Lindon Madray of Airy Hall, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
According to a press release Madray was travelling in the tray of a motor lorry when he reportedly fell off and was run over by the vehicle.
He was later taken to the Kwakwani Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver is in police custody assisting with investigations.
