Herstelling Raiders FC claimed the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports/ East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Pee Wee League, defeating Mocha Champs 4-0 yesterday at the Grove Community Centre ground.
Needing to win by a 3-0 margin without conceding to claim the title, Raiders opened the scoring as Captain Shoran James opened the scoring through a fourth minute effort. He would then double their lead as he found the back of the net in the 21st minute.
James would then grab the crucial third goal for Raiders as completed his hat-trick seven minutes later. The result would then be completed two minutes onward as James sealed his helmet trick.
With the win, Raiders clinched the championship accolade after finishing ahead of second place Craig Primary on goal difference following both sides ending their campaign on nine points. Finishing in the third spot was Agricola Red Triangle who received the respective accolade.
In the individual section, James would finish the competition as the highest goal scorer with six conversions while Christopher Adams was adjudged to be the event’s most valuable player and best goalkeeper after only conceding once in the campaign.
