Conquerors remain unbeaten

Tourney hosts Fruta Conquerors maintained their unbeaten record in the inaugural Massy United Insurance Company sponsored U-15 League, hammering arch-rivals Pele FC 4-0 yesterday at the Tucville Community ground.

Orwin Garraway opened the scoring for the home side as he lashed his effort into the back of the net in the 22nd minute.

An own goal in the 38th minute would double their advantage as a right sided corner kick from Raushawn Rich was comically spilt inside the centre of the goal by the Pele custodian who failed to catch the cross within the six yard box.

It would then become 3-0 three minutes onward as Garraway grabbed his second of the day, cutting across the centre of the box from the right side before thumping his effort into the lower left hand corner.

Rich would then complete the result in the 49th minute, thumping his effort into the roof of the left corner after being in a one-on-one situation with the opposing keeper in front the left upright.

In the opening fixture at 9:00hrs, Order and Discipline FC downed Sunburst Camptown 3-0. Anthony Spooner led the way with a double in the 26th and 46th minutes while Brian James scored in the 17th minute.

The second fixture saw Black Pearl FC defeating Beacons FC by a 2-0 margin. Julian Bamfield and Joshua Thompson scored for the winners in the 23rd and 33rd minutes respectively. In the fourth fixture, Western Tigers defeated Houston Stars via walkover.

In the fifth showdown, Georgetown Football Club (GFC) edged Riddim Squad by a 1-0 score compliments of a Closson McLaren effort while Santos and Renaissance FC battled to a nil-all draw in the final match.

The action is slated to continue at the same venue on Saturday.
