A 40-year-old mother was yesterday released on $40,000 bail after she denied converting a quantity of clothing entrusted to her to her own use.
Timmy Hendricks, who was arraigned in a city court yesterday, pleaded not guilty to the fraudulent conversion charge, which stated that on February 17, 2013, being solely entrusted with a quantity of clothing valued $247,000 and belonging to Denise Hilliman, she converted it to her own use and benefit.
Attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat made an application for reasonable bail to be granted for Hendricks, who was described as a mother of two of Lot 223 Lamaha Squatting Area. He added that the accused was given the articles to sell but she wasn’t able to market all and she would like to return the remainder.
Prosecutor Bharat Mangru had no objections to bail, which was set at $40,000 since the Hendricks told the court that it was all she can afford. The matter was adjourned to March 23.
