Hikers and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) retained their Woodpecker Products U21 male and female titles respectively when the fifth annual Hikers Hockey Club Junior Indoor tournament concluded at the National Gymnasium recently.
The men’s U21 runners up was the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) side while Old Fort finished third.
Runners-up on the female side was Hikers with Old Fort third.
In the Global Technology U16 female section, tourney hosts Hikers were crowned champs with GCC the runners up and Old Fort third.
Old Fort won the male division from GCC with Saints Silencers third.
In the iNet Communications U-13 category, Hikers Innovation emerged champs ahead of GCC Gladiators and Saints Silencers third.
In the Global Technology Inter Schools Category, Christ Church retained their title with Queen’s College second and Marian Academy third.
In addition to trophies and medals the champions and most valuable players of the Global Technology Inter School’s category also received gift certificates for free computer classes at the institution.
The most valuable players (MVP) of the U21 male and female sections were Jamarj Assanah of Hikers and Ashley DeGroot of GCC. For their efforts, they received gift certificates for varying amounts, all redeemable at Woodpecker Products.
Ian Burke of GCC Gladiators was adjudged the MVP for iNet Communications U13 boys section while Madison Fernandes of GCC Lightning Bolts was adjudged the MVP of the female section.
In the Global Technology U16 categories, Old Fort swept both awards in the form of Carolyn Dean and Shaquille Thomas. Queen’s College would also sweep the MVP awards in the Global Technology Inter Schools section as Hilton Chester and Aliyah Gordon were adjudged the winners.
