The Private Sector Commission (PSC) will continue its sessions with elections stakeholders with a meeting set for today with the Guyana Elections Commission.
Chairman of the PSC, Ramesh Persaud told Stabroek News on Tuesday that the commission was meeting with election stakeholders to address members’ concerns.
Most recently on March 9 and March 12, the PSC met with members of the Guyana Police Force and Caricom Secretary General Irwin LaRocque respectively.
Persaud said that the PSC would be observing the General Election on May 11, 2015 and wished to inform Caricom and the GPF to create a cohesive linkage among the entities.
Persaud said that possible unrest after the election results are announced remains a concern for many private businesses regardless of what the outcome is. He told Stabroek News that the PSC wished to keep the various election stakeholders abreast of the commission’s concerns and intentions.
He added that the commission would also be liaising with other entities including observer organisations.
