The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association will stage its monthly one day knockout softball tournament Sunday at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground, Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown.
This second edition will be dubbed “GFSCA Easter Bash knockout softball”. Just like the previous Mash Bash Softball tournament held last month, it will be played in the Open (Male of any age) which will be five overs per innings, and Masters Categories. The Master category will be for males 40 years of age and over (born 1975 and before). This competition will be 10 overs per innings.
Entrance fees for the Male Open is $16,000 and Masters $21,000. Umpires will be paid by the GFSCA. The prizes for each category is the Trophy Stall Easter Bash softball trophy and $50,000 for the winners while runner ups will receive $10,000. There will also be a Man of the Match trophy for each final. All interested teams can call Wayne Jones at 650-1790. Only 16 teams will be accepted.
Admission to the ground is free. Matches starts 11AM. The Open Category will use the Yellow Floodlights ball, while the Master plays with the white GFSCA balls. Balls are available at the Trophy Stall and Mike’s Pharmacy.
