Broadlink Development, a local information technology solution company, will today launch its ‘SmartSure Guyana’ online shopping app on the Google Play Store for all smartphones.
The new mobile app is being billed as an e-commerce solution which allows online shopping of items locally, with payments secured by internationally recognised PayPal Inc.
CEO of Broadlink Development Sheldon Blair told Stabroek News that the mobile app is dedicated to Guyanese and would be the first of its kind in the mobile platform and e-commerce industry in Guyana and the Caribbean. “The new mobile app allows online shopping (buy, sell and bid) on items locally. All payments for the SmartSure Store are secured by PayPal Inc., which makes the app a comfort to users, so they can enjoy shopping with confidence at the palm of their hands,” he said.
In addition to online shopping, the app will also offer users, among other things, employment and real estate listings, cellphone Top-up, news, sports and entertainment sourced from local news media as well as a live radio player, free streaming of HJ 94.1 Boom FM and Radio Guyana.
Broadlink Development is also preparing another mobile app for release in May, 2015—
the SmartSure Antigua mobile app.
“The SmartSure services aims are to create a localised mobile solution for countries in the Caribbean,” Blair explained, before adding that smartphone and tablets users will be able to reach markets across the country and around the Caribbean in the near future using the SmartSure app.
