Arthur wins third leg but Eastman is overall winner

Akeem Arthur out pedaled a field of Guyana’s premier cyclists to win the third and final leg of the Cheddi Jagan Memorial road race series yesterday in Essequibo, but Hamza Eastman’s consistency enabled him to lift the overall trophy of this year’s event. By virtue of winning the first leg, placing fifth in the second leg and finishing second yesterday, the Team Coco’s standout was crowned this year’s champion.
In yesterday’s 55-mile trek, which pedaled off from Supenaam, proceeded to Charity and ended at Anna Regina, Arthur (2hr:07m:09s) led Eastman and last year’s overall winner, Alanzo Greaves onto the podium.
