Western Tigers stormed their way into the semi-final round of the inaugural Massy United Insurance Company U-15 League, defeating Order and Discipline 3-0 yesterday at the Tucville Community ground.
Romel Maxwell opened the scoring in the fifth minute with an audacious lobbed shot 28 yards out on the left side of the field, which sailed over the hands of the keeper and settled into the right hand corner.
The lead would be doubled this time from the right side of the field in an almost identical manner as Maxwell lobbed his right footed strike 27 yards out over the hands of the keeper and into the left hand side of the net. Shamar Brandon would then complete the win in the 59th minute, skipping past the challenges of two player during a solo run before finishing his left footed effort into the middle of the net, from within the centre of the box.
Also sealing a place in the next round was Renaissance FC who crushed Beacons FC by a 4-2 score line. Calvin Peters led the winners with a first half double in the eighth and 15th minutes before he was sent off in the 23rd minute for dissent.
Completing the score line with goals in the 25th and 29th minutes were Travis Hercules and Omari Rendell respectively.
Georgetown Football Club also clinched their place in the final four, upsetting Black Pearl 4-3 on penalty kicks after normal time finished 1-1. Raheem Hussain opened the scoring in the 18th minute for Black Pearl while Benny Burrowes equalised for the Bourda side in the 40th minute.
Up to press time, the final quarterfinal fixture between Fruta Conquerors and Santos FC was being contested.
