The final group-stage round in the third annual Greatest Guinness of the Streets East Coast of Demerara tourney will commence today at the Haslington Market Place tarmac with eighth slated fixtures.
In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Melanie-B will faceoff with Paradise while Beterverwagting (BV)-B will lock horns with Mahaica in the second fixture at 19:30hrs.
The third matchup will witness home side Haslington battling Plaisance-B from 20:00hrs while Nabaclis will match skills with newcomers Mahaicony from 20:30hrs.
In the sixth affair, defending champs will take centre stage against Ann’s Grove Punters from 21:00hrs whilst Buxton will oppose BV-A from 22:00hrs. The final showdown of the night at 22:30hrs will pit former winners Plaisance-A against Victoria Eagles.
Winners of the event will receive $300,000 and the championship trophy while the second place side will collect $150,000 and the runners-up accolade. The third and fourth place finishers will collect $100,000 and $75,000 respectively.
Upon the completion of the event, the top two teams in the tourney will represent the region at the national tournament slated to be hosted later in the year.
