Dismembered woman still to be identified

The dismembered body of a woman that was found on the Annandale foreshore has not yet been identified and no one has been arrested so far, the police said yesterday.

The police also said they are currently questioning persons from the surrounding communities and checking missing person reports.

The woman’s torso was found on Thursday morning by an Annandale resident, who was taking his dog for a bath.

The head, legs and arms were found later at the foreshore after the water receded at about 12:10 PM, the police said in a statement afterward.

“When we go up deh, we see like some minced meat; the head gone, the foot gone, and it look somebody use a cutlass,” one resident had told Stabroek News.
