At about 18:30hrs yesterday, the police say, they recaptured escaped prisoner Rayon Paddy and arrested another man who was wanted pending investigations into several armed robberies.
During the operation, the police say, they recovered a .32 semi-automatic pistol with 12 rounds along with 17 rounds 5.56 calibre ammunition and a quantity of cocaine and marijuana.
Paddy, 26, of South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, had been shot and injured by an off-duty policeman during a recent robbery under arms at Popeye’s Restaurant on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown.
He subsequently escaped from the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was under guard and receiving treatment, police said.
Both men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
